It’s finally time for readers to hear directly from Rowley in a journal of his own. In Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, Rowley writes about his experiences and agrees to play the role of biographer.

Planting My Garden

This is my garden,

I'll plant it with care.

Here are the seeds

I'll plant in there.

The sun will shine,

The rain will fall.

The seeds will sprout

And grow up tall.

Peach Pie Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup nonfat or 1 percent lowfat milk

1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt

1 cup frozen unsweetened peaches

1 tablespoon honey, plus more to taste

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch ground nutmeg

Pinch ground ginger

Directions:

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Balloon Ping Pong

Need to keep the kids entertained during those summer lulls, withOUT breaking things in the house? Try balloon ping pong!

Shop at Dollar Tree – Here’s What You’ll Need:

    2 Paper Plates

    Markers, Crayons, or Color Pencils

    2 Craft Sticks

    Balloon

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

Decorate two paper plates with markers, crayons, and colored pencils.

Glue a large craft stick to the back of each paper plate so half of the stick extends past the edge of the plate.

While the glue is drying, blow up a round balloon.

Clear an open space in the hallway or living room and let the kids play. Keep score of how many times the kids can hit the balloon without it falling to the floor and reward them with the Candy Medals from this month's Value Seekers Club page!
