Sad thoughts are banished when hedgehog friends Horace and Hattie run into a “squeaky thing” hanging from a tree; it’s a purple bat!

Is Leaf Man heading west, above the orchards, prairie meadows, and spotted cows? No one's quite sure, but this much is certain: A Leaf Man's got to go where the wind blows...

When a terrible drought struck William Kamkwamba's tiny village in Malawi, William began looking for a solution. There, he came up with the idea that would change his family's life forever.

Fall Leaves

One is orange,

Two are brown,

Three look yellow

on the ground.

Three are green,

Two bright red,

One just fell

Upon my head!

Cracker Bugs

Ingredients:

Round crackers of choice

Soft cheese of choice

Handful of carrot shreds

Sliced cheese of choice

Edible pen (optional)

Directions:

Crackers were spread with soft cheese (I used Ritz crackers and Philadelphia) and carrot legs were added before sandwiching two crackers together.  Eyes were cut from cheese and dotted with edible pen before attaching with a little more soft cheese.  This would work with any round crackers, or you could use circles cut from sliced bread to make bug sandwiches.
